The man accused of murdering young mum Lauren Howe is expected to stand trial at Leeds Crown Court in January.

Charlie Booth, 27, made a further appearance before a judge at the crown court this afternoon (Wed) but he was not asked to enter his plea to the murder charge.

Booth, of Albert Road, Saltaire, was charged with murder last month after 26-year-old mum Lauren Howe died in hospital on July 24 following an incident in Baildon.

Booth, who is remanded in custody, was brought to court to appear before Judge Simon Phillips QC and during a 25-minute hearing he set down a timetable for the progress of the case.

The judge confirmed that Booth’s trial had been fixed to start on January 23 next year and it is expected to last ten days.

After the hearing Booth, who spoke only to confirm his name, was taken back into custody.

He will next appear for a further case management hearing on October 13 when he is expected to enter his plea to the charges he faces.
