A Keighley town councillor will be sentenced on October 6 after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a child.
Councillor Martyn Wood admitted the offence at Leeds Crown Court.
Wood, 40, of Parkwood Rise in Keighley, was sent to the crown court by Leeds magistrates on July 23.
He appeared in front of Judge Tom Bayliss QC on Friday and admitted a single count of sexual assault on a child under 13 in July.
West Yorkshire Police said at the time that Wood, a councillor for the Morton and Sandbeds ward, had been arrested and charged with the offence.
