A new car share scheme could be coming to Shipley as part of a carbon emission cutting experiment.
Bradford-Shipley Travel Alliance is searching for drivers who want to cut down their costs and impact on the environment, as well as finding an alternative to owning a vehicle.
It would follow a similar successful model used by residents of Hebden Bridge.
The organisation wants to create a non-profit, community based car sharing scheme which offers annual memberships and a booking system.
Cars would be purchased for members with charges applying for use by the hour or day, plus a mileage charge.
The vehicles would be collected and returned at set locations in Shipley.

The application form reads: “Most private cars are not in use the majority of the time, but the costs of vehicle ownership are high.
“A scheme of this kind can help some households avoid the need for car ownership entirely, and remove the need for a second vehicle for others.
“Car share schemes are not designed for people who need a car every day, but they can work successfully for those who need access to a vehicle from time to time.”
