TRAVELLERS have moved onto playing fields near Thornbury Barracks.

It’s understood the group has been there for several days, but Bradford Council is in the process of taking action to move them on.

When the Telegraph & Argus visited this morning, a number of caravans could be seen on the Thornbury side of the piece of land, which is close to Sunnybank Lane.

One Telegraph & Argus reader said it’s the third time travellers have pitched up on the land.

In July, a group managed to get onto the land and a resident said at the time: "You can already see a lot of litter and tyre tracks on the playing fields.

"I believe the council need to do more to secure the gates on Woodhall Lane to prevent further access again as this is Council land."

Bradford Council has been contacted for comment but has not yet responded.
