A WITNESS has described his shock after seeing a Golf flip onto its roof in a built-up town centre after a police chase.
Abdul Rashid said the pursuit took place between Frizinghall and Saltaire at around 2am this morning.
He said it came to an end when the car he said was being chased, a Volkswagen Golf, ended up overturning onto its roof on Bingley Road, in Saltaire near to where building works are ongoing for the new Coop Store, just after the junction with Grosvenor Road.
There were two ambulances, police and a fire crew there, according to Mr Rashid.
He added that there was a casualty in the Golf.
Mr Rashid said he was "shocked" at the danger caused to other road users.
He added: "The area is busy in an evening with restaurants, bars and shops open 'til late and there could have been a greater number of casualties."
The Telegraph & Argus contacted West Yorkshire Police for details but have received no response.
