STUDENTS in the Bradford district marked the end of a challenging two years of studying with many celebrating their A-level results.

It has been a tough two academic years for students and teachers as they juggled home, online and school learning – particularly during their initial 12 months of studying for their qualifications.

A host of students across Bradford were celebrating making the grade in their A-levels.

Belle Vue Girls’ Academy is celebrating after its sixth form students achieved another year of strong A-level results.

The Academy, which is part of Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, now sees many of its students excited to progress onto their next steps this September. Destinations include universities, apprenticeships and employment.

While all pupils have achieved impressive results, there are some exceptional individual achievements. These included Rimsha Bibi and Aneesa Chaudhry who both achieved three A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and have both secured places to study Dentistry at The University of Leeds.

Maria Ali who achieved A* in Maths and As in English Literature and History and has secured her place to study Law at City of London University.

Subjects that saw particular success at the school include Urdu where 100 per cent achieved A* or A grades, Maths where 71 per cent achieved A or A* grades, English Literature where 60 per cent achieved A*or A grades and Art where 55 per cent of students achieved A or A* grades.

Other Bradford district student success stories included students at Immanuel College looking forward to taking their next steps after receiving an impressive set of A-level results.

Despite the challenges caused by the pandemic, the college, which is part of Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, is pleased to share a year of brilliant results achieved by its students. Overall, the College achieved 92 per cent of A Level grades at A*-C, and 100 per cent of BTEC grades at Distinction* - Merit.

Many of the College’s students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen universities, exciting apprenticeships and employment at leading organisations.

Immanuel's stand-out students included Isobel Heal, who successfully achieved three A*s in English Language and Literature, Psychology and History and a distinction* in BTEC Law and has secured a place to study law at the University of York

Andrew Martin, who successfully achieved two A*s in Mathematics and Further Mathematics and two A grades in Chemistry and Physics and has secured a place to study Mathematics at the University of Leeds.

Michael Coe, who successfully achieved three A grades in Finance, Biology and Geography and has secured a place to study Finance at the University of Manchester.

Bingley Grammar says this year's Maths results are the best they have ever reported, with its students sealing 11A*s and five As.
