A BRADFORD pub will go the extra mile to help people affected by cancer.

The team at Chapel House in Low Moor will host a sponsored walk to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support this Saturday.

The Greene King pub on Park House is inviting the local community to join them in celebrating ten years in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support by joining them on the 16-mile walk or donating what they can to the charity.

As part of their fundraising efforts, the team will be walking 16 miles to Leeds, stopping at six other Greene King pubs along the way.

The walkers will be meeting at 8am for bacon sandwiches and then setting off on their journey at 8.30am.

Since 2012, Greene King team members and customers have raised £12 million for Macmillan.

Amy Walsh, general manager of the Chapel House, said: “We are really looking forward to hosting our 16-mile sponsored walk and welcoming our customers to help us raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.”

Rachel Gascoigne, senior partnerships manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “Our 10-year partnership with Greene King has been so successful and it’s because of events like these.

“We are grateful to Chapel House and their customers for their support.”
