FIREFIGHTERS have extinguished a large fire in Keighley this afternoon.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 3.38pm today to Wardman Street in Keighley.

Three large jets from Keighley, Silsden and Shipley fire stations battled the blaze in the open which affected two containers and then spread to a number of trees at the site on the housing estate.

A local resident captured an image of plumes of smoke rising in the air above the location off Bradford Road.
