A MAP of Bradford that referred to a concrete city centre car park as an urban park will be corrected.

The site of the former Jacob’s Well office building was recently listed as “Jacob’s Well Park” in a Bradford Council consultation on how to boost physical activity in the District.

The former Council office building was demolished in 2019, and in early 2021 the site was converted into a Covid 19 vaccination centre.

This facility remains on the site.

A consultation on The Bradford district physical activity strategy began last month, and asks people to list changes that could be made in various areas of Bradford to boost exercise, walking, cycling and outdoor play.

It includes a map where people can “drop a pin” and make suggestions about that area.

The Jacob’s Well site, off Hall Ings, was originally shown as a public green space on this map. One consultant had pointed out that the site is, in fact, a car park.

Major public sector hub project for Bradfords' Jacob's Well site in doubt after government appetite 'cools'

The Telegraph & Argus asked Bradford Council whether the map revealed a new use for the site once the vaccination centre is no longer needed.

A Council spokesperson, said: “The map included in this third party report is incorrect.

“Once the temporary vaccination centre closes, the Jacob’s Well site will return to being a car park.

“We have contacted the report writers who will correct the error.”
