LOCAL charity and foodbank Feedo Needo is hosting a series of free events in Bradford over the school holidays for parents who are facing childcare struggles.
Throughout August, Feedo Needo will be holding the events at both its Bradford and Manchester branches, including planting flower pots on 16 August and painting on 23 August.
With the cost of living continuing to rise, many parents who visit Feedo Needo branches expressed concern regarding the affordability of childcare.
Rafa Ahmed, Project Manager at Feedo Needo, said: “The combination of the increase in food prices, utility bills and inflation has led to extra pressure on childcare providers, meaning they have unfortunately had to put prices up.
“A lot of providers also went out of business during Covid, meaning parents have less childcare choice and some more affordable providers are no longer around.
“We regularly serve parents who are now unable to afford childcare. The parents who don’t have family or friends to rely on have been hit especially hard.
“We hope our events will help ease the stress for struggling parents and we want them to know that there is support out there for them.”
