POLICE are appealing for information after a 12-year-old boy was injured in a collision over the weekend.

At around 9.05pm on Saturday, 13 August, a blue Honda Civic was involved in a collision with the child on Woodhouse Street – between the junctions of Thomas Street and Pennington Street – in Leeds.

The driver failed to stop at the scene and drove off towards Meanwood Road.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment after suffering injuries to his head, chest and legs.

He has since been released and his injuries have been confirmed as being minor, West Yorkshire Police said.

Officers have been unable to identify the current owner of the vehicle, which remains outstanding and is thought to have been abandoned somewhere in the Woodhouse or Meanwood areas.

It has the registration SA54 OSZ.
