IF you’re the sort of person who thinks pineapple on pizza is a crime against food… look away now.

An Ilkley pub has unveiled what is sure to be a divisive new range of burgers with some unusual additions — marshmallow, Biscoff spread or an Oreo biscuit, anyone?

The Yard Sports Bar on Brook Street has created a range of what it calls “bonkers burgers” following apparent high demand for its Chicken ’n’ Waffle buttermilk chicken burger served on a sweet waffle.

They’re being billed as the perfect meal for those who just can’t wait until they’ve finished their main before tucking into their dessert.

The Bacon and Blue Oreo features two patties from award winning butchers Lishman’s of Ilkley, covered in bacon, blue cheese and crumbs of Oreo biscuits, topped with a full biscuit on a rainbow bun.

If that doesn’t faze you, how about the Bacon Biscoff, with lashings of Lotus Biscoff spread, billed as “sweet, salty and gooey”?

And apparently a big hit in Philadelphia is the Fluff Screamer, a burger with onion, chilli sauce and marshmallows.

The Yard’s chef in residence Linford Nicholson said: “Our ‘Chicken and Waffle’ burger was such a success that we have been asked to push the burger boundaries event further, we’ve seen what people like and take it up a level, which is where ‘Crazy Creations’ come in.

"Our favourite is the ‘Bacon and Blue Oreo’ - two Lishman’s of Ilkley patties, bacon, blue cheese, and Oreo crumb topped with an Oreo on a rainbow bagel - sweet and savoury goodness with a little chocolate hint!”

If the sweet and savoury combination isn’t your bag, then they have also included many requests from customers to bring back favourites such as the ‘Sharer Tray’, which consists of everything from mini burgers to halloumi fries and even a couple of wings amongst a plethora of other delights. In addition, there are other stand out favourites included from the old menu such as ‘The Bacon Cheese’ and ‘Salt and Pepper’ wings (now with the option of a sticky Korean BBQ glaze).

First reviews on the new menu have been a huge success with customers taking to social media and saying: “Had a meal last night…. absolutely gorgeous cannot recommend highly enough” and “Amazing food tonight”.

For a limited period, they are offering 50% off the new menu between Monday and Thursday’s. Just quote “MENU50” when booking (must be pre-booked).
