A BRADFORD district man has been fined £1,000 after going over double the speed limit in his Jaguar.

Adrian Young, of Berrington Way in Oakworth, committed the offence on November 27 of last year.

The 65-year-old exceeded the 30mph limit by speeding at 70mph on a 'special road'.

This was on the M62 eastbound between Junctions 19 and 20.

Young was fined £1,000 and had to pay a victim surcharge of £100 and £90 in court costs.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

The case was heard at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court on Friday, August 5.

The 'exceed a variable speed limit - automatic camera device' crime was contrary to the M60 Motorway (Junctions 8-18) and The M62 Motorway (Junctions 18-20) (Variable Speed Limits) Regulations 2017 and section 17(2), (3) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 19.
