THREE engines extinguished a building fire in Morley this morning.

The fire service was called at 3.06am this morning to a building fire on Queen Street, Morley.

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A crew from Morley initially responded to an automatic fire alarm.

"On arrival, they passed a priority message for a confirmed building fire and two further appliances were mobilised from Hunslet.

"The fire involved a microwave in a kitchen in a two-storey building measuring approximately 10 x 40m.

"One hose reel and two breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire.

"Positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke."
