PLANS have been submitted to turn an old pub into a residential development.

The application is for the former Richardsons Arms, on Bradford Road, Oakenshaw.

The pub has been closed for some time and a plan submitted to Kirklees Council is seeking permission to convert the building into five one-bedroom apartments.

Five new homes, each with two bedrooms, would also be built on the land. The application says the homes would each have parking facilities and a garden,

The plan has been lodged by Laura Morrell and a public consultation, which began on July 22, will run until August 26.

Kirklees Council’s planning website says an initial target date for the application is September 15.
