BRADFORD has been basking in a heatwave which has seen temperatures reach a peak of 30C this week.

Chris Roberts, of Bradford & Bingley Weatherline, brings us his regular weekend weather forecast to see if the hot weather is to continue.

General outlook

High Pressure is maintaining its hold on our Weather for now but its drawing its air from a warmer source, sending warm/hot continental air our way.

This airstream is not expected to last though as the Low pressure systems slip in from the West by Sunday night and the High pressure moves into Scandinavia.

This will result in a change to more cool and showery air, but it could also spark off some thunderstorms early next week, as it does so.

Saturday

Another dry and largely sunny day with light winds from the SE/East with some high cloud potential for later in the day.

Temperatures from 15 to 29 or 30C. The evening/night will be dry with lows of 15C in a light Easterly breeze.

Sunday

Another very similar day to Saturday but likely to have more in the way of cloud. Again temperatures well above average from 15 to 30C or perhaps even 31C in a light/moderate SSE to SE breeze.

Evening/night temperature: Lows of 18c and feeling muggy as humidity levels increase.

Into next week

Low pressure becoming the driving factor with the potential for Thundery outbreaks of rain on Monday and Tuesday.

Some uncertainty remains for the rest of the week on whether the new, generally unsettled conditions will result in any meaningful rainfall as the thunderstorm potential recedes. Its most likely to be average temperatures and the odd light shower.
