A BRADFORD man has been fined for failing to pay a rail fare when travelling between Bingley and Bradford Forster Square station.
Liam Mercer, 25, Telford Court, Princeville Street, Bradford, travelled between the two stations on December 29, 2021, without paying the £3.30 rail fare.
He was asked to produce a ticket and when he couldn’t do so, he was asked to buy one.
Due to not having enough funds, an Unpaid Fares Notice was issued in good faith so that he may pay the outstanding fare within twenty-one days.
No payment was made and so a reminder letter was issued.
A Collection Order was made and he was asked to pay a fine of £220, compensation of £3.20, a surcharge to fund victim services of £34, and costs of £150.
In total, he was fined £407.30.
