A MAJOR pizza chain has opened up a new branch in the Bradford district.

Papa John’s store in Bingley, was officially opened by Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Martin Love.

The Main Street branch will also create more than 15 jobs.

Papa John’s has converted a former Yorkshire Building Society at the Five Rise Shopping Centre in Bingley into a takeaway.

The Yorkshire Building Society unity has been empty since the building society announced in 2017 that it planned numerous closures of high street branches.

Amit Pancholi, UK director of business development, Papa John’s, said: “With Papa John’s support I anticipate new customers won’t be able to resist the treat of Papa John’s in Bingley.

“We are pleased to continue to assist our high street franchisees with their growth plans.”
