SOMEONE rang the 999 emergency line...because they had lost their passport.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual calls they receive from the general public.
The force receives 120 inappropriate calls each day, and posts them on social media as part of its #Not999 campaign.
Please do not call 999 because you have lost your Passport! It's not an emergency and needs to be reported as lost to https://t.co/xw22rc0V1v, not Police.

"It's not an emergency and needs to be reported as lost to Gov.uk, not Police. This information is available on Google. #Not999.”
Previous calls to the contact centre have included someone called 999 to ask them to book some driving lessons for them.
