THE man who died after crashing while paragliding in Bradford was a popular window cleaner.

Shawn Crossfield, known as Eddie, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The 54-year-old lived on the Shirley Estate in Gomersal.

The incident, which led to an air ambulance being called out, occurred on Tong Lane at around 7pm on Tuesday night.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances.

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service received a report that a paraglider had fallen from the sky at 7.03pm.

The British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association, who are leading the investigation into his death, has been approached for a comment by the Telegraph & Argus.

Yesterday a police spokesperson said: "At 7.31pm yesterday (Tuesday), police received a request from the ambulance service to assist with an incident involving a paramotor which had crashed in Tong Lane, Bradford.

"The male was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Enquiries at the scene suggested there were no suspicious circumstances and a file has been prepared for the Coroner.

"The British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association will be leading the investigation into the matter."
