A MAN has appeared in court for stealing more than £600 in cash from a Bradford supermarket where he worked.

Ednazio Da Conceicao Olivera Xavier, 26, of Brafferton Arbor, Bradford, faced one charge of theft by employee.

He stole money, to the value of £640, belonging to Tesco, Great Horton, Bradford. The offence took place on October 29, 2021.

Xavier was handed a community order including a requirement to carry out 100 hours unpaid work in the community over the next 12 months.

He was also ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs for the charge. A collection order was made by the court.

Xavier pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on August 2, 2022.
