THE Bradford filmmakers behind a film designed to promote Yorkshire have reached one million views on YouTube within seven days of it being released.

Scott and Sid unveiled their film ‘A Playground Like No Other’ on August 1, to coincide with Yorkshire Day.

The film is at the heart of Project Yorkshire, a post-pandemic campaign to put the spotlight on the region.

It is narrated by legendary actor Sean Bean.

Sid Sadowskyj told the Telegraph & Argus that they were celebrating one million views for their short film on YouTube alone, with two and a half times that across all channels in just seven days.

“It is not just about the views – it is the feedback we have received,” he said.

“We are inspiring people to come here on holiday, to relocate here, to study, to invest and to do business in Yorkshire.

“It makes you quite emotional. We wanted to make something really uplifting that is a force for good and it’s clear that people all over the World are loving what we have produced.

“We wanted to produce something that ultimately inspires and entertains - that catapults Yorkshire across the planet. The comments we’ve already received from people all over the world, already shows the impact the film is having.

“When we saw how the pandemic was really impacting entire industries and we felt a calling - a duty to help. It was inspirational what the likes of the NHS was doing.”

Before its release Sid described how he brought Sean Bean to the project, saying he was their first choice for narrator.

He said: “Being a Yorkshire man himself with an iconic accent, not to mention his role as King of the North in Game of Thrones, there was just no one better for the job.

“It's been a huge honour to work with him on this project as it's clear it means just as much to him to champion his home county as it does to us.”

Many organisations across Yorkshire have backed the film and Sid said making it was a huge responsibility.

The 20-minute film is still available to watch online for free.

Recent comments describe A Playground Like No Other as: “A great celebration of our wonderful county!”, “What a super advertisement for Yorkshire. Thank you,” and “Beautiful video. Yorkshire just jumped to the top of my short haul bucket list.”
