The past two years, dominated by covid and several lockdowns, have seen the care sector come under extraordinary pressure. But the mark of an exceptional care provider is how  that provider responds to exceptional circumstances while continuing to provide the highest standard of care.

And let’s face it, just about everything which has happened in the world over the past 36 months can be described as exceptional.

But at Britannia Care, management and staff have risen to the challenges recent events have thrown at them and emerged with flying colours.

“Looking back over the past 36 months, everyone involved with Britannia have been magnificent in the way they/we, have had to adapt and change under the challenging circumstance we have faced,” said Britannia Care director and founder, Mr Chaudhry Inayat Khan.

While August is a time for holidays and relaxation, there has been no resting on their laurels at Britannia Care, with everyone work hard to deliver the high level of care while implementing the new work practices.

Co-director at Britannia Care, Mr Anis Khan, said: “We are getting  used to the new way of working, but on care and compassion we have remained steadfast. We have not compromised at all so that all our service users have continued to get the best care, the best treatment, the best care and attention, and we are building on that.”

Part of Britannia Care’s ethos is to reflect the everyday living we all enjoy with in the care home environment.

“We are constantly thinking of ways to enhance our residents experience,” Britannia Care manager Nina Butor. “For example, we plan special menus  from locally sourced suppliers using fresh produce, so mealtimes are exciting and something to look forward too.

“Afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches is very popular. We also include pakoras, which residents love!”

Staff also make sure that any cultural highlights and religious and other events are also celebrated.

Said Nina: “We seasonally decorate the facility making it feel like a resort experience. And residents love to keep active, with art classes, live music/entertainment, cinema nights with old classics all extremely popular.

“While we at Britannia Care firmly believe that we provide an excellent care service, our review by the Quality Care Commission has consistently given us a Good rating and five stars in environmental health.
