AN inquest into the tragic death of young mum Lauren Jade Howe was opened today.

The much-loved 26-year-old died on Sunday, July 24, following an incident on Tennis Way in Baildon.

West Yorkshire Police was notified by Yorkshire Ambulance Service on the morning of July 24 that paramedics had been called to a concern for safety and were treating an injured woman.

She was taken to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Today's brief hearing, at Bradford Coroners’ Court, confirmed Ms Howe’s details and her date of death.

Coroners’ officer Alexandra Bliss told the inquest opening that Ms Howe passed away at Bradford Royal Infirmary and was identified by her sister, Bethany.

Criminal proceedings are now underway in relation to her death, so assistant coroner Angela Brocklehurst suspended the inquest until they are concluded.

She requested various statements and reports to be collected, including one from Ms Howe’s family and her GP.

A forensic post-mortem report must be filed, as well as a toxicology report and full police report with regards to the investigation.

A review was scheduled for October 18.

Charlie Booth, 27, of Albert Road, Saltaire, Shipley, has been charged with the murder of Ms Howe.

He will make his next appearance at Leeds Crown Court on August 24.

There was an outpouring of grief following Ms Howe’s death and scores of touching tributes were paid in a book of condolence set up by the Telegraph & Argus.

Her sister, Olivia, said: “My heart is well and truly broken and I don’t think I’m ever gonna get through this.

“You wasn’t just my sister, you was my best friend.”

She added that life wouldn’t be the same.

“This isn’t goodbye sister, this is until I meet you on the other side,” said her touching tribute.

Another sister, Leigha, described her as an amazing mum while her sister Bethany said: “Oh, my sweet, sweet baby sister.

“No words will ever describe the pain and heartache we're feeling right now. You have left such a hole in our hearts. Go be free Lauren and be you. I love and miss you more than you could ever imagine. Lots of love u bossy big sister.”

Stephen Townend added: "Lauren, I’m absolutely lost for words that you have left so early in life. You were an amazing mother and amazing friend and you will be missed by everyone. You touched a lot of hearts in your time with us and thank you for letting us be a part of your story in life.”
