A WARRANT has been issued for a man accused of driving while disqualified, without insurance and speeding.

Christopher Stokes, 42, of New Lane in Laisterdyke was due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Thursday to face three charges.

The charges are driving while disqualified, using a motor vehicle on a road without third-party insurance and speeding.

But the 42-year-old was absent from court and police have now issued a warrant for his arrest as the alleged offences are potentially punishable with prison.

Stokes is accused of driving a red Audi A3 on Otley Old Road, near Horsforth, on March 19 despite being disqualified from doing so.

He is also accused of having no insurance and driving at 42mph on a 30mph road.
