A BRADFORD man has been banned after being caught drug driving in the city.

Martin Mitchell, 49, of Tranter Grove, Tyersal, faced two charges of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified drug above the specified limit.

In the first offence, he was caught driving a motor vehicle when the proportion of Benzoylecgonine in his blood exceeded the specified limit.

He was also caught driving when the proportion of cocaine in his blood was greater than exceeded the specified limit. He was also fined £120 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs. 

The offences happened on Rand Street, Great Horton, on May 5 this year.

Mitchell was disqualified from holding, or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months for the offences.

He was given no separate penalty, but his driving record was endorsed, for a third offence of using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third-party insurance, also on May 5.

Mitchell was sentenced at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on July 27.
