DRIVERS heading towards the M1 near Leeds can expect severe delays this morning.

All lanes were stopped from 8am, creating long queues of traffic between the Robin Hood area and Horbury sections of the M621 and M1

All lanes have since been reopened but congestion is expected to last for some time.

The crash took place on the M1 Northbound from junction 42 and junction 29 on the M62 (Lofthouse) to junction 43 (M621 interchange, Leeds).

There are queues of traffic along junction 41 (Carrgate).
