Chris Roberts, of Bradford & Bingley Weatherline, brings us the first of his regular weekend weather forecasts

Low pressure and associated weather fronts will bring unsettled, showery conditions pushing in from the west, and see the high pressure - albeit a weak one - retreating into Scandinavia.

However, another area of high pressure is not far away in the west, and this should have a slight influence on our weather later in the weekend, though perhaps less so into the early part of next week as further weather fronts feature.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Bradford & Bingley Weatherline

Saturday

A breezier, cloudy and showery day of mainly light rain, but a heavier one can't be dismissed, so please be aware. There should also be some sunny periods between them in some spots.

Sunday

A messy picture again, but as the high-pressure influence moves closer, a drier day in prospect. The positioning of the higher pressure to our west is crucial, so it could maintain a few showers. Some uncertainty remains on this. There should be a few sunny breaks after the morning showers potentially decrease.

Temperatures at the weekend period are a little below average at 18 to 20C, but it should feel warmer in any sunny spell.

Into next week

Remaining unsettled. However, high pressure moves in for the end of the week, bringing more in the way of sunshine and, eventually, warmer and drier conditions. More on this next week as forecasting confidence increases.
