THE Bradford branch of Geek Retreat will not be re-opening in Bradford, it has been announced.

The store opened on Bank Street, in Bradford city centre, back in 2019.

The gaming hub was due to move premises to Market Street, but it was announced on Facebook that would no longer be the case.

A post said: "To the Geeks of Bradford, to the ones who see us as a safe haven, it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know that we will not be reopening our store in Bradford.

"As many of you eagle-eyed supporters have seen, the posters in the new store have come down. Unfortunately, this is because the property has fallen through."

The post added there had been some issues surrounding the lease and added: "After reviewing cash flow, already existing overheads and thinking of the future, other properties available in Bradford just aren’t feasible.

"I am so sorry to have to make this announcement, but there are still many great places to visit in Bradford, or if you don’t mind the train or car journey, you are all more than welcome to visit us in Wakefield.

"To my staff, past and present: I am beyond sorry, and eternally grateful to you for making my nearly three years at Geek Retreat Bradford the best they possibly could be.

"Unfortunately, this time it is goodbye, not see you later.

"Katie and Mark."
