LATEST: Bradford man appears in court charged with attempted murder

A 32-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident on Great Horton Road.

It happened at around 9pm on Tuesday evening (July 26), resulting in a 28-year-old man being injured.

The victim remains in hospital at this time, West Yorkshire Police said.

Police cordons were put in place along sections of the major route and nearby side streets, including King’s Fold and Paternoster Lane.

Leon Fenton of Birch Lane, Bowling, has been remanded into custody to appear at Bradford Magistrates this morning. 

A woman who was arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A scene still remains in place on Frank Street in connection with the incident.

A number of uniformed police officers and police community support officers could be seen inside the cordoned off scene on Wednesday.

Marked police cars were also parked at either end of the large, main cordon on Great Horton Road.

Traffic was diverted away from the road while a forensic examination of the scene got underway.
