STUDENTS from a dance school in Shipley made it to the final of a prestigious dance festival.

Five young girls between the ages of 8 and 15 from the CC Dance Company reached the finals of the All England Dance Festival (AED), held in The Wycombe Swan in High Wycombe.

CC Dance Company was the only dance school from West Yorkshire to make it to the finals.

Claire Quinn, co-owner of the Dance Company said: “It’s fabulous that we’ve made it this far.

“The girls have absolutely enjoyed it and have asked if they can do it again.”

Charlotte Murdock, 15, gained a place in the final for her Tap dance; Olivia Padgett, 11 was selected for her National, Greek and Ballet dance; Teegan Mckinnon, 10 was selected for her Modern; Bo Belles Quinn, 9 was selected for her Ballet, Tap and National dance and Megan Sanasy, 8 was selected for her Song and Dance.

Catorina Murdock, principal at the CC Dance Company said: “I have been overwhelmed and quite emotional that five of our CC students have made the final of All England.

“This prestigious event is not only an opportunity of a lifetime but it is also a testament to our children and teachers that hard work pays off.

“I was fortunate enough to compete at the AED as a child, so I know exactly how it feels to perform in front of industry professionals showcasing the talent we have in West Yorkshire.

“I am very proud of them for achieving this"
