A SCHEME aimed at encouraging people to support Bradford city centre is celebrating after welcoming 100 stores on board.

The Bradford City Centre Gift Card was launched just eight months ago to give the high street a boost.

But it has proved so successful that the number of outlets accepting the card has now smashed the 100 barrier.

The card was launched by Bradford Business Improvement District.

Participating businesses and venues include M&S, Primark, Boots, The Entertainer, Superdry, H Samuel, Waterstones, Moss Bros, F Hinds the Jewellers and JD Sports along with popular independent local businesses such as Mario’s Hairdressers, Blooms on Market Street, Huma Humad, Impressions Gallery, Apricot, Threads, Khaadi and Tiffin Coffee.

Food and drink outlets include Brewdog, City Vaults, German Doner Kebab, Chilli Flames, Nando’s, Pizza Pieces, Lefteris and the Rooftop Café, while accommodation providers include the Midland Hotel, the Great Victoria Hotel and Jury’s Inn.

Among the leisure attractions are Airobounce, Bradford Ice Arena, Funzy Inflatable Theme Park, The Light Cinema, Hollywood Bowl, St George’s Hall, the Alhambra Theatre and Bradford Playhouse.

The card can be purchased from www.bradfordgiftcard.com or from the Visitor Centre and soon from Bradford City. It works as a pre-paid Mastercard, with physical or digital versions available.
