BRITANNIA CARE
With summer now in full swing, residents and staff at Britannia Care have been enjoying themselves.
When the weather has allowed, staff have been able to make the most of the sunny days, escorting residents on daytrips and visits to local parks and gardens, ensuring that those in their care enjoy the benefits of the summer months.
Being able to get outdoors on a regular basis is a real boost to the wellbeing of all concerned, with huge benefits to mental and physical health.
Add to all those outdoor activities the bounty of seasonal produce such as fresh salads and summer fruits, and the catering arm of Britannia is serving up healthy and nutritious meals which reflect the season. Summer on a plate, in fact.
Mr Chaudhry Inayat Khan, founder and director of Britannia Care, said: “The summer fun at Britannia Care started with the Queen’s Jubilee, and we have been very fortunate that the weather has been very kind to us and enabled our care team at Britannia to take advantage and accompany our residents on trips and excursions.
“While covid hasn’t disappeared and we still need to be vigilant, the laws and regulations around covid have all been removed and that has been to the benefit of our residents as we have been able to enjoy a wider range of activities.”
As Britannia Care is a purpose -built facility they were able to include in the design important elements essential to providing high quality care, such as lift access to all floors, and corridors wide enough to accommodate supportive aids, all of which ensures residents have a place they can call their own.
Co-director at Britannia Care, Mr Anis Khan, said: “The thought which we put into the design of Britannia Care is replicated in our care ethos and how we support our residents in the best possible way. As well as the wellness benefits derived from the activities and outings, we also look boosting the health of residents through diet, providing nutritious, health and tasty meals.
“And it’s important that we ensure that residents are able to stay hydrated, too.
“At this time of year, with such wonderful produce available, we are able to provide a range of fantastic salads and juices, as well as taking advantage of the weather and holding barbecues.”
The Britannia Care’s multilingual staff have a long history of providing care to the area’s multicultural community, with over 30 years of experience, knowledge and understanding in providing expert care to a diverse clientele.
As well as priding themselves on the facilities, activities and the level of care provided by Britannia Care’s highly trained staff, the group also pride themselves on being very approachable, ensuring that there will be a member of staff who you can talk to, who is only too happy to guide you through all you need to know about placing a loved one in Britannia’s care.
