THE final episode of a series which goes behind the scenes of emergency services in Bradford will be broadcast next week.
Bradford On Duty will be shown on BBC Two on Tuesday, July 26 at 9pm.
An earlier episode of the show was due to be broadcast earlier this month but was postponed to make way for over-running Wimbledon coverage, which seems to have had a knock-on effect on the scheduling of the rest of the series.
‘Healthy At Home’ focuses on how the NHS in the Bradford district is trying to relieve pressure on hospitals by caring for patients in their homes.
Community matrons Sandra and Julia will again feature. They are shown looking after a patient in pain who has been waiting for a hospital appointment for over two years, after having it postponed during the pandemic.
It provides a stark reminder that there are currently six million patients on NHS waiting lists, an increase of 50 per cent since the beginning of 2020.
Police officers in Bradford, including PC Annabel Pryke, are also shown during the episode in a briefing.
The series has featured a number of individuals from West Yorkshire Police in the city, including Inspector John Toothill, and Bradford Council officials such as council leader, Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe and chief executive Kersten England.
