The Curry Mela is coming to Bradford city centre this weekend.

Taking place in Centenary Square, visitors can expect performances from a flash mob, a Gol Gappay/Pani Puri competition, and a celebration of the city’s international food heritage.

Masterclasses with renowned chefs from across the region will show visitors how they create their much-loved traditional dishes and burgeoning fusion blends.

Booking is advised for the sessions, with hosts including ‘The Spicy Flexitarian’ Radha Kaushal-Bolland from Masterchef; The Aagrah’s Mohammed Aslam; Mumbai Bites’ Sabra Kader and The Sweet Centre’s Waxy Ali, as seen on the BBC’s Britain’s Top Takeaways.

The free events are taking place throughout Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24.

The heritage area will showcase original menus and recipes used by some of the city’s most popular eateries.

The event is linked to the third annual Bradford Curry Awards, launched in 2018 to celebrate the district’s half billion pound industry.
