Award-winning coffee roasters in Shipley have unveiled new plastic-free packaging for the Casa Espresso brand.

The new bags consist of a paper based pouch with a water-based barrier, featuring a heat-sealable and recyclable design.

It comes after Casa Espresso coffee roasters expanded into new premises, three times bigger than its previous space.

The business supplies coffee for a number of independent coffee shops and businesses across Yorkshire, including Bread + Roses, The Quaffery and Craft House.

Casa Espresso has just placed an order for a bigger commercial roaster as it moves to increase production.

Managing director and founder Nino Di Rienzo said: “Packaging has always been the elephant in the room. The needs of having a bag that keeps coffee fresh while being environmentally friendly and easy to recycle has been challenging.”
