ASDA and Jaja Finance have announced a partnership to offer a new reward credit card where customers will earn Asda Pounds that they can later spend in its stores and online.

Shoppers could earn one per cent back in Asda Pounds when using the card to buy their groceries, fuel and other Asda services, with and additional 0.3 per cent cashback on all other purchases outside of Asda, owned by brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa who have Bradford links.

Shoppers using the new credit card will be rewarded through Asda’s new loyalty programme, Asda Rewards, every time they shop. They need to download the Asda Rewards app and link it to their credit card to earn one per cent for every £1 spent with Asda.

Asda Rewards is being expanded to 300 stores from Thursday, rolling out to more stores and online across the summer.

This means that customers can spend the cash they’ve earnt in even more stores or online by creating vouchers in their Asda Rewards app and scanning their phone at the till when they shop. Alternatively, they can save and build up their Cashpot.

Shoppers applying before August 28 will earn a higher rate of two per cent back on their Asda purchases.
