SOMEONE rang the 999 emergency line...because they spotted a duck on its own in a car park.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual phone calls they receive from the general public.

In its latest example, the team said: "Although a duck being on its own in a car park is sad, it's not what the 999 line is for! #not999."
Previous calls to the contact centre have included someone called 999 to ask them to book some driving lessons for them. Another caller wanted to order a pizza from the line, while another had an issue with a mobile phone they had just bought.
