WEST YORKSHIRE Police is urging people to be mindful as the region prepares for a spell of hot weather over the coming days.
The Met Office has issued an “exceptionally rare” red warning for extreme heat for large parts of the country, lasting from Sunday until midnight on Tuesday.
When a red warning is issued, people are advised to take action to keep themselves and others safe from the impact of severe weather.
An amber weather warning for heat is in place for Bradford across Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
According to the Met Office, temperatures in Bradford could reach as high as 32 degrees on Monday, and 36 degrees on Tuesday.
Today, Bradford is expected to see highs of 24 degrees, and highs of 29 tomorrow.
Temperatures across the district are expected to cool down to 21 degrees by Wednesday.
West Yorkshire Police tweeted a link to the Met Office’s weather warnings page this morning, urging people to be prepared.

Grahame Madge, Met Office spokesman, said: “We’ve just issued a red warning for extreme heat for Monday and Tuesday which is the first such warning ever issued.
“The warning covers an area from London up to Manchester and then up to the Vale of York."
