SOMEONE rang the 999 emergency line...because logs were not burning in their wood burner.

West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.

The team often tweets some of the more unusual calls they receive from the general public.

The force receives 120 inappropriate calls each day, and posts them on social media as part of its #Not999 campaign.

In its latest example, the team said: "As frustrating as it is when the Logs won't burn in your woodburner, it is not a Police Matter and certainly #Not999!

Previous calls to the contact centre have included someone called 999 to ask them to book driving lessons for them and another wanting to order a pizza.
