A 17-year-old has been convicted of murdering 19-year-old Kian Tordoff after a lengthy trial at Bradford Crown Court.

Six men have been on trial for the murder of the young man and the attempted murder of Matthew Page – known as Matthew Lowther – in the early hours of October 10 last year on John Street, at Bradford Crown Court.

The 17-year-old had denied murder but had already pleaded guilty to the lesser offence of manslaughter of Mr Tordoff on “diminished responsibility” on account of his mental health at the time and guilty to unlawful wounding of Mr Lowther.

However, this afternoon, the jury decided he was guilty of murder.

Verdicts for the other defendants followed quickly as the trial reached a dramatic conclusion this afternoon.

Arbaz Khan, 22, of Yew Tree Avenue in the Daisy Hill area, was found not guilty of murder, by a majority of 11-1, but guilty of manslaughter, by the same margin.

Aizaz Khan, 27, also of Yew Tree Avenue, was found not guilty of the murder of Mr Tordoff and not guilty of his manslaughter.

Amaad Shakiel, 20, of Leaventhorpe Lane, was found not guilty of the murder of Mr Tordoff and not guilty of his manslaughter.

Adam Qayum, 23, of Avenel Road in the Allerton area, was found not guilty of the murder of Kian Tordoff and not guilty of his manslaughter.

Mohammed Adil Hussain, 18, of Kite Mews in the Lower Grange area, has been found not guilty of the murder of Kian Tordoff, but guilty of his manslaughter, with a unanimous decision.

The attention of the court then turned to the injuries sustained by Matthew Page/Lowther and the charges relating to that.

The 17-year-old was found not guilty of the attempted murder of Mr Lowther, but guilty of wounding with intent (a unanimous decision).

All five of the other defendants were found not guilty of wounding with intent of Mr Lowther.

Because these five defendants were not found guilty of the wounding with intent of Mr Lowther, an alternative of unlawful wounding.

Arbaz Khan was found guilty of the unlawful wounding of Mr Lowther (a majority of 11 to one).

Mohammed Adil Hussain was also found guilty of the unlawful wounding.

Adam Qayum, Amaad Shakiel and Aizaz Khan were found not guilty of the unlawful wounding.
