A WARNING of extreme heat for Bradford has been extended into a third day next week.

Sunday will see the start of an amber warning in place across the UK, including Bradford, as temperatures are set to rise to a high of 26C in the city, according to the Met Office.

This warning continues into next Monday when the mercury in Bradford is set to rise to 30C. It will also extend to Tuesday as temperatures rise even further, peaking at 32C.

The heatwave is likely to peak early next week, leading to widespread impacts on people and infrastructure.

The extreme heat warning includes population-wide adverse health effects are likely to be experienced and delays and road closures can be expected.

Before the weekend temperatures are expected to fall only slightly with warm and dry days expected.

Tomorrow will see a day of wall-to-wall sunshine in Bradford as temperatures tumble slightly to a high of 20C.

Friday will produce the coolest day for a while, with a dry day of sunshine and cloudy conditions with a high of 19C in Bradford.

This Saturday will see temperatures climb once more with a high of 23C in Bradford, but a cloudy and overcast day is expected.
