PLANS to flatten an old blacksmith’s workshop near a rail station and build a new industrial unit in its place have been approved.
652 Cleckheaton Road is a stone workshop building that has been vacant for years.
It is just yards from Low Moor Rail Station.
In Spring Lee Naylor submitted a planning application to replace the derelict building with a 70 square metre industrial unit.
Redevelopment of vacant site off Tong Street approved
The application has now been approved, with planning officers saying: “The development is basic and functional in terms of design and appearance but acceptable within this employment zone site is acceptable particularly as it would display an existing dilapidated building.”
A parking area with space for three cars will be created as part of the development.
