SOMEONE rang the 999 emergency line...because their neighbour’s dog was running around their garden.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual phone calls they receive from the general public.
Your neighbours dog running around your garden is not a reason to ring 999. If it is aggressive and out of control, then yes, but if it is just annoying you, then no. #Not999 pic.twitter.com/dzBWdwyKgJ

In its latest example, the team said: "Your neighbour’s dog running around your garden is not a reason to ring 999. If it is aggressive and out of control, then yes, but if it is just annoying you, then no. #Not999."
Previous calls have included someone calling 999 to ask them to book some driving lessons for them, and another call involved a woman asking for a spider to be removed from her house.
Others included a man who reported his oven was broken and it needed to be fixed.
