THE Bradford district is the second cheapest area in Yorkshire when it comes to house prices, according to data from Zoopla.

The average price for a house in the district stands at £147,700, a growth of 9.4 per cent.

Only the Barnsley district betters this by £1,400 with an average of £146,300.

The nearby Craven District is the fifth most expensive area in the region with an average house price of £269,600, a 9.4 per cent increase.

The Harrogate District tops the charts in that category with £332,600.

Gráinne Gilmore, Head of Research at Zoopla, said: "The impact of the pandemic, the reassessment of home that followed and the supply and demand imbalance is still being felt.

"Factors including the increasing cost of living, increasing mortgage rates for buyers and a cloudier economic outlook will act as a brake on house price growth throughout the rest of the year."
