MEET Simba - the longest-running resident at Yorkshire Cat Rescue.

Staff at the centre, near Keighley, say it's "heartbreaking to see him lonely and stressed "watching the world through his cat pen" and they are desperate to find him a loving home.

Says the centre: "Simba is our longest resident at Yorkshire Cat Rescue. He has been with us for five months.

"It is heartbreaking to see our boy get more lonely and stressed at the centre and we are desperate to find him the loving home he deserves. Simba loves to play with his food maze, is obsessed with catnip and is a very intelligent and clean boy who just needs the right home and experienced owner to give him what he needs.

We would love for someone to take him home so he doesn't have to spend anymore time watching the world through his cat pen. All Simba needs is a quiet home with an understanding person who can give him all the time and attention he needs. He would need to be homed as the only pet and without other children as they can make him very stressed.

So would anyone be able to give our longest resident a loving home? If you do please fill in an application form on our website. Please, please help us. The longer Simba stays in our care the more stressed he becomes.

Also up for adoption is Bertie, who has liver disease and would love a new home for whatever time he has left.

"Things are going really well for Bertie at the moment and although we can't promise any length of time that he will have in his new home it is wonderful that he is able to be re-homed. Whatever time you spend with Bertie will be precious; he is so loving and loves fuss and attention."
