A PUDSEY man will stand trial next year accused of murdering his pregnant wife by pushing her off a well-known peak in Edinburgh.
Last year, Kashif Anwar, 28, was charged with the murder of 31-year-old Fawziyah Javed at Arthur's Seat in Holyrood Park on September 2.
A Dedicated Floating Trial has been set for March 29 in Edinburgh.
At the trial, Mr Anwar will also face an earlier charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
Last December, the mother of Mrs Javed told the Telegraph & Argus that “the light has gone out of our lives” after her daughter’s death.
Yasmin Javed spoke of the void her only child’s death has left, compounded by the knowledge she was pregnant with a baby boy at the time of her passing.
Mrs Javed worked as a solicitor after graduating from The University of Sheffield and spent much of her free time supporting charities.
