A MALE driver has been arrested after a car hit a child pedestrian and then failed to stop on a busy Bradford road.
The crash occurred on Leeds Road at around 10pm on Wednesday.
A harrowing video - where the child is seen being hit - is currently circulating on social media.
Police are aware of the footage and say, although it is distressing in nature, thankfully the child only received minor injuries.
The 42-year-old behind the wheel has since handed himself into the police.
A spokesperson from the force said: "At 10.24pm last night police were called to Leeds Road, Bradford to a report that a car had failed to stop in a road traffic collision.
"A child pedestrian was involved in the collision and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
"A 42-year-old man handed himself into the police identifying himself as the driver.
"He’s been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for a road traffic collision.
"Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage or CCTV to come forward.
