A MAN who has experienced homelessness has completed a charity walk to help others in a similar situation.
Darren Dodds has raised £900 to provide starter packs filled with essential items.
He did the walk, along the canal from Shipley to Bingley, on behalf of Quays Housing last Sunday.
Tenants are referred from Bradford Council and have often experienced homelessness through most of their lives.
When they arrive, many are entrenched rough sleepers or have few belongings and Quays Housing aims to support them to become tenancy ready.
Darren is one of those people the organisation has helped and is now rebuilding his life.
He said: “All money raised will be to provide starter packs for those who need help with essential items that they require when signing up for their tenancies and starting on their journeys to securing their own accommodation.”
