SEVEN arrests have been made in Bradford today in relation to the alleged disorder that occurred at a City match.

The alleged incidents took place at the League Two encounter at Hartlepool United's The Suit Direct Stadium on Tuesday, March 15.

Five men aged 19, 20, 22, 26 and 29 have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and section 18 assault.

Along with those offences, a 20-year-old man has also been arrested for throwing a missile and a 21-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of common assault.

The men remain in police custody in the Bradford area.

Superintendent Gareth Crossley, of Bradford District Police, said: “We welcome the arrests made today by Cleveland Police. Violent disorder and antisocial behaviour has no place in the game.

“We will continue to work with Cleveland Police and Bradford City Football Club as the investigation progresses.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101, quoting incident number 043268.

Police dogs had to be used at the game as officers were threatened and targeted by concrete and glass bottles, with some people even carrying sticks with nails embedded.

A Hartlepool matchday steward was assaulted and suffered serious injuries inside the ground which required overnight hospital treatment.
